PAYMENT

Empower YOU Speech & Language Therapy believes in excellent services tailored to meet you or your child’s individual needs. Empower YOU is both a private pay clinic, and in network with Cigna and BCBS. We are currently in the process of becoming in-network with UnitedHealthcare, check back for updates! For private pay clients, and copays/coinsurance, payment is due at the time of service.  At this time, Empower YOU Speech & Language Therapy only accepts the following payment methods: 

  • CignaHealth Insurance Plans

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance Plans

  • Private Pay (Credit card) 

  • Health Savings Account (HSA)

  • Flexible Savings Account (FSA)

  • Katie Beckett Waiver 

    Private pay services are provided at the following fee schedule:

    Evaluations:

    Speech/Language/Stuttering Evaluations:

  • $325 - Comprehensive Formal Speech and/or Language Assessment WITH evaluation report and treatment plan  (60-90 minutes) 

  • $275- Informal Speech (Articulation) assessment only, WITH written report and treatment plan (30-40 minutes) 

    Gestalt Language Evaluations:

  • $300- Informal Gestalt Language Processing evaluation, WITH evaluation report and treatment plan (45-60 minutes)

    Private Pay Rates (Therapy):

    $70 25-minute IN CLINIC therapy session + parent/caregiver consult

    $140 50-minute IN CLINIC therapy session + parent/caregiver consult

    $140 per/hour attendance at IEP meetings and school observations/consult + travel fee

    $140 50-minute gestalt language consultative services with parents/caregivers and providers 

    ** In-home travel sessions are available for an additional fee based on time away from the office. Reach out to us to see if a travel session is a good fit for your family, and we'll provide exact pricing based on your location.

  • In order to provide high quality, in-home concierge speech services, Empower YOU Speech & Language Therapy only provides 50 min in-home services outside of Spring Hill, TN.

  • Please note, Cigna and BCBS healthcare plan require a different fee schedule than private pay. Reach out for more information about your plan. Clients using Cigna and and BCBS insurance payments for services. Insurance plans require in-office services only.

  • For private paying clients, Empower YOU Speech & Language Therapy provides what is known as a Superbill, a receipt of payment that would allow a client to seek reimbursement of services through insurance benefits.  We offer an Out of Network benefits guide (cheat sheet!) for ease and convenience with this process. Reach out for your copy today! If you choose to use a Superbill for reimbursement, we recommend verifying your speech-language therapy coverage with your insurance company prior to your evaluation to determine the coverage your policy offers.   • Empower YOU Speech & Language Therapy is able to provide necessary documentation for reimbursement of funds through the Katie Beckett Waiver.  If your child has been approved for this waiver, you can choose to use those funds for speech/language therapy.  For additional information regarding the Katie Beckett Waiver and eligibility requirements, please visit their website at:  https://www.tn.gov/disability-and-aging/disability-aging-programs/katie-beckett.html‍ ‍

Effective January 1, 2022, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

In accordance with the "No Surprises Act," health care providers need to give patients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. The estimate is based upon what care is reasonably expected to be, at the time in which the estimate is issued. If there are significant changes to the plan of care due to changing circumstances, a new estimate may be issued. (This applies to individuals who are paying privately, unable to use their insurance benefit, or are uninsured. This does not apply to those who have and utilize their insurance benefits.)

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • I'd love to answer any questions you have with a free consultation, or reach out to schedule an evaluation! An evaluation typically takes 40-60 minutes depending on the type of evaluation and each person's individual needs. Evaluations may be formal or informal, depending on any previous evaluations within the past 6 months, and based on the nature of your concerns. Following the evaluation, we will determine whether therapy is warranted and schedule services tailored to you. It is important to meet and evaluate each new client in order to determine what is specifically needed for you or your loved one.

  • Gestalt Language Processing is a natural way that some children learn language, by acquiring whole phrases or "chunks" of language first, rather than starting with single words and building up. This often shows up as echolalia, repeating lines from favorite shows, books, songs, or things they've heard others say.

    GLP isn't a therapy method itself, it's a natural language development process. Our therapy approach works with this process, honoring how gestalt language processors naturally learn, rather than trying to eliminate scripting. We guide children through the natural stages of language development toward flexible, self-generated language they can use to express their own thoughts.

    Using the Natural Language Acquisition (NLA) framework, we support your child's communication in the way that's most natural for how they learn, building toward more spontaneous, original language over time.

  • Working with a Speech-Language Pathologist who is a specialist in you/your child's specific area of need ensures you are receiving high quality services, tailored specifically to your child's needs. This results in the best outcomes from intervention for both yourself, you child and your family!

  • Yes, an evaluation is required prior to services being rendered. However, Empower YOU will accept outside evaluations that have been conducted within the last 6 months.  An evaluation helps guide our treatment goals, therapy approach, and session frequency to help obtain the best treatment outcomes. We have options for both formal and informal evaluations.

  • We offer services in Spring Hill, TN, at 4918 Main Street, Suite 11. We are located right across from the Southern Banking Company, with the green metal roofs!

    We do offer concierge services as available with our schedules.

  • Absolutely! School-based services are based on the impact of your child's disability in the educational setting. If your child's needs warrant services, private therapy is a wonderful route to go to support speech and language development regardless of qualifying in an early intervention or school-based setting.

  • Unfortunately, Medicaid does not accept Superbills for reimbursement at this time. However, individuals with Medicaid can opt to pay privately for services.

  • Referrals are not needed for private pay speech and language therapy.

    However, when using insurance, specific insurance plans may require a doctors referral.

  • Yes, we would be happy to communicate with any additional service provider, at any time. We are happy to schedule phone consultations 15 minutes in length free of charge.
